Yad Vashem is Israel’s principal memorial site for the victims of the Holocaust. It is a compound composed of a museum, a school, archives, and a library. It is located in the Jerusalem Forest, on the western side of the Mount of Remembrance.
The memorial is home to two types of facilities: those that are used for the scientific and historical study of the Holocaust, and museums and galleries that cater to the broader public. The International School of Holocaust Studies is located inside the complex.
The most important sites to visit inside the memorial include the Hall of Names, the Eternal Flame Hall, the Cattle Car memorial and the Garden of the Righteous Among the Nations. The memorial is the second-most visited tourist site in Israel after the Western Wall.Places nearby:
