Located nine kilometers from the Plang Jio entrance of the Way Kambas National Park, the Elephant Training Center was officially established in the year 1985.
The aim of this establishment is to protect the elephant's existence and simultaneously create mutual benefit for both men and elephant. This center is also a reminder of the era when the sultans or kinds ruled Sumatra, in which elephants were trained as well as deployed in ceremonial purposes and during war too.
Visitors to this park can view elephants perform tasks such as plowing fields and transporting lumber. They also entertain people and perform fun activities like playing football.
