The first of its kind in England, Trentham Monkey Forest welcomed its first visitors in 2005. The 60 acre forest is part of Trentham Gardens near Stoke, Staffordshire, and is home to about 140 monkeys.
The monkeys are Barbary macaques, usually found in North Africa and are allowed to roam freely in the park. It's a unique chance for visitors to see the creatures close up, although straying from the marked paths is forbidden for safety reasons.
One of the focuses of the facility is to educate people about the endangered species, and the park hosts regular events such as monkey feedings and breakfast with the monkeys.
