Known as Stari Most, The Old Bridge stood for 427 years in Mostar, Bosnia. Unfortunately, Croat forces destroyed the original bridge in 1993 during wartime. A reconstruction project began shortly after, resulting in a rebuilt bridge by 2004. The bridge is constructed with Balkan Islamic architecture and remains a popular attraction in Mostar.
During the summer, a local tradition sees people jump off the bridge into the frigid waters below. Tourists have joined this event from time to time as well. If the bridge lasts another 400 years, then eager tourists will surely still come to see its beautiful architecture.Places nearby:
