Without a doubt, Copacabana is among the most beautiful South American beaches. Just off the beach, there is a long strip of nightclubs and bars, which makes it possible to effortless transition from a beach day into fun night life activities. The beach is a spectacular stretch of golden sand which is typically crammed with individuals enjoying the view, the vibe and each other’s company.

Copacabana is mainly occupied by adults and older teens. The water is cold and it is not considered the ideal swimming location; however, constant daily activities like beach football make it a remarkable location for people watching.

Jericoacoara

Brazilians regularly refer to the Jericoacoara fishing village as the best beach in Brazil. In addition, on numerous occasions, it has been named by the Washington Post as being among the ten best beaches in the world. It boasts spectacular surroundings and sunsets. While the sea is not great for swimming, there are a number of lagoons providing better swimming conditions. Furthermore, there are good spots for windsurfing and surfing as well.

Peru

Vichayito

Only a short stretch from the towns of Los Mancora and Organos, this gorgeous beach is typically peaceful and quiet. It provides nice shallow water that is ideal for paddling younger children. The waves pick up further out in the beach, making it perfect for windsurfing and fine surfing. The charming village surrounding the beach provides remarkably rustic accommodations.

Punta Sal

This lovely village is located on the northern coast and backs on to hillsides that are thick with green jungle; it is an ideal destination for a family getaway. Half of this curved beach is safeguarded against larger waves, which makes for a calm swimming environment. The northern part of the beach is a bit more exposed; however, it is typically a little quieter.

Cabo Blanco

A fishing pier splits this beach in two and stretches out into the water. This is among the biggest attractions when visiting Cabo Blanco. It provides an exceptional fishing spot, which once attracted celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe and Ernest Hemingway. These days, Cabo Blanco Beach provides a remarkable stretch of sand on which you can relax alone or with your favorite people. Even though the waves are too big to accommodate weak swimmers, they are awesome for avid surfers.

Colombia

This beautiful isolated beach is set in a national park and is great for those looking for a quiet and relaxing place. The waves make it more ideal for surfing as opposed to swimming. However, a turtle conservation project and other wonderful wildlife can be spotted here, which makes it a delightful location for nature lovers.

Playa Blanca

Located on Isla Baru, this beach can be accessed via a short boat ride from Cartagena. Playa Blanca is quite popular and there are many options when it comes to sunbeds. When you are looking for snacks or drinks, there are several beach bars available. If you are looking for a secluded spot for relaxation, the best place to be is at the south end of the beach. This is away from where day trip visitors are dropped off by boats.

Ecuador

Montanita

Among the most popular destinations in Ecuador for beach lovers, this location has awesome surfing conditions. Additionally, the waves are adequately tame for stronger swimmers. Montanita is remarkable destination for a beach vacation. However, it is probably not ideal for young families as it is reputed to be a party town, which is reflected in the town itself and on its beaches.

Venezuela

This is a rustic beach that is especially popular with visitors and locals alike. You can relax on a deck chair shaded by an umbrella or enjoy the fairly calm waters that provide a great swimming environment. Choroni is located in a bay that backs up to steep mountain slopes that are covered in breath-taking greenery. This lovely location is further enhanced by the gentle swaying of palm trees in the breeze.

Argentina

With beaches merely yards from the city center, Mar del Plata has waves that are ideal for individuals looking for a good body boarding and surfing spot. Plenty of activities and facilities like beach sports and sun loungers can be found on the beaches closest to the city center. However, you may find it challenging to find a spot to spread your towels on the weekend.

An arc of golden sand bordered by rocks that expand out to the sea, the waters of this beach are quite calm and great for swimming. You will find many local families enjoying this beach. The village has rustic surroundings that have a hint of European appeal; it is an amazing beach location and a charming town.

This is one of just two sandy beaches that are found on an island encircled by a stony volcanic coastline. Anakena is lined with coconut trees, palm trees and the renowned moai statues. After spending time discovering the history of the island, you will be able to sunbathe on the white sand or relax and enjoy a picnic under the palms.

Guyana

Shell Beach

Shell Beach is an amazing sandy oasis that gets its name from the giant sea turtles who take over each night between March and August to use the beach to lay their eggs. The beach stretches across 90 miles long and includes nine distinct yet interconnected beaches. Over centuries, the four-legged visitors have left billions of shell fragments behind that have covered the shores of Guyana. They serve as natural housing for hatched baby turtles.
