One of the symbols of America, the Golden Gate Bridge connects Marin County to San Francisco.
When built in the 1930s it was the world’s longest suspension bridge and its statistics are still impressive; a main span of 4,200 feet and a height of almost 750 feet.
It’s well worth the toll charge to drive across what has been called the most beautiful bridge in the world, and you can also walk or cycle across it.
