Notable for its Baroque decorative exterior, the Church of St Francis is located in Porto, Portugal in the city center.
It dates from the 14th century, although much of the interior decoration was added in the 18th. A circular rose window decorates the main facade, while some of the facing has obvious Islamic themes. Highlights of the interior include a granite statue of St Francis of Assisi, and the intricately carved gilt wood on the pillars and roof, considered some of the best in Portugal.
