Located 28 km from Amritsar and 22 km from Lahore, Wagah Border marks the boundary between India and Pakistan.
The ceremony at Wagah Border is a daily military practice that the Border Security Forces (India) and Pakistan Rangers (Pakistan) have been jointly conducting since 1959. It is held every evening before sunset.
The display of military showmanship and camaraderie in the ceremony lasts for around 45 minutes and is performed with high patriot spirits on both side.
It is a wonderful spectacle to witness where citizens of both the countries are filled with pride and enthusiasm. The crowds sing their national anthems, applaud and even dance to Bollywood numbers as a build up to the ceremony.Places nearby:
