Thailand has many statues of Buddha, but one of the most impressive is the Big Buddha, located near the popular tourist area of Phuket.
The 148 feet tall statue was completed in 2014, made from marble covered concrete. Around 1,000 people visit everyday, many writing touching notes on the bricks. The site is worth visiting not only for its spectacular views in every direction, but also for the peaceful, almost reverential atmosphere.
