Located in the heart of Amsterdam, the Anne Frank House is a must see sight in one of Europe’s most visited cities. Anne was a Dutch schoolgirl forced into hiding in her attic when the Nazis invaded. Sadly, Anne did not survive the war, although her diary did. The rooms where Anne and her family hid for several years have been left much as they were during WW II; the museum has exhibits on the short life and legacy of Anne, as well as different aspects of discrimination. A visit here may mean standing in line, but it’s a moving experience.
