Located in Tarragona in Spain's Catalonia region, Tarragona Cathedral dates from the 12th century, and it's been added to and remodeled over the years.
It was built over a Roman temple, and excavations have revealed parts of that building, along with the remains of a Moorish mosque. Stunning views of the city can be enjoyed from the 70 meter high bell tower, and sculptures of saints, made in the 14th century, can be seen in the Capitular Hall, along with 15th century wooden choir stalls.
The peaceful cloister has columns depicting various religious scenes and the Dancing Egg ceremony has been held here annually since 1933.
