The Russian Ministry of Defense oversees the St. Petersburg Military Historical Museum of Artillery, which is located in Russia's second city, St. Petersburg.
The building, often known as just the Artillery Museum, dates back to the early 18th century; today the museum is home to about 850,000 exhibits occupying about 17,000 square meters. However, many exhibits are displayed outside, with about 250 tanks, cannons and rocket launchers displayed in chronological order.
Inside, there are displays on military communication, artillery from the 15th to 17th centuries, weapons of the two world wars, and more.
A variety of guided tours focus on different aspects or themes.
