Opened in November 2002, Sipan – Museo Tumbas Reales de Sipan is Northern Peru's pride.
With its burgundy colored pyramid structure rising from the earth, this world class facility is designed specifically to exhibit the marvelous discoveries from Sipán. Guides take the visitors through the structure downwards from the top and are allowed to view a limited number of the various discoveries from tombs in the identical sequence in which the archaeologists discovered them.
This eye for details, which is rare in museums adds an enthralling context to visitors. The first floor hall has comprehensive ceramics representing people, gods, plants, llamas, as well as other animals.
