Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park is one of the most popular in Japan. It's home to the country's iconic Mt. Fuji, as well as miles of countryside, and several other peaks and waterfalls.
One of the most visited is Shiraito Falls, designated as one of Japan's top 100 falls and protected as a National Monument since 1936. The falls, which were seen as sacred by the Fuji cult, are about 200 meters across, and water falls over a 20 meter high cliff face.
The trail leading from the main road to the falls is lined with souvenir shops, and another picturesque waterfall, the Otodome Falls, is a few minutes walk away.Places nearby:
