One of the area's best places to grab a bargain, the San Jose flea market was established in 1960; it's since become the largest open air market in the US. It's estimated the flea market covers about 8 miles of stalls and well over 2,000 vendors selling everything from clothing, furniture and collectibles to fruit and vegetables and old toys.
The farmers' market section is a great place to buy locally grown food, and the market has dozens of food outlets, many specializing in Mexican food.
