Covering 100 acres and at an altitude of almost 2,000 feet, Spokane's Riverfront Park is popular with locals and visitors to this city in Washington state.
The park was created for Expo '74 which was held in the city; today the 37 mile Spokane River Centennial Trail passes through the park. There's a small amusement park, a much loved and historic carousel dating from 1909 and a skyride that takes people over the Spokane Falls.
