Do not forget to visit the Residenz when visiting Germany. It is known all over the world for its former royal collections, room decorations, as well as architecture.
It is unarguably the largest city palace in the country. This building complex consists of 130 rooms and 10 courtyards. It consists of three main parts the Festsaalbau (this also contains the Ciuv, the Alte Residenz, and the Konigsbau.
The first building over here was constructed in the year 1385. Though many parts of the palace have crumbled, those that are still surviving are the ballroom cellar and the basement vaults, which includes the round pillar.
