The Ram Ghat is the oldest ghat in the ancient city of Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. It is famous for the Kumbhmela that is held here after a period of twelve years. During the auspicious period of the mela close to 20 million pilgrims take a dip in the river.
Set on the banks of the Shipra River, the ghat is located close to the Harsiddhi Mata Temple. There are many other temples that dot this area. The aarti or the ritual of paying respects to the river is done every day at dawn and at dusk.
