Prometheus Cave is the largest cave in the country of Georgia, and is located about 12 miles from Kutaisi.
It’s named after the rock that the Titan Prometheus was supposedly chained to. The huge cave was discovered in 1984 and is a wonderland of stalactites, stalagmites, underground rivers and waterfalls that have since become petrified.
One of the best ways to see these marvels is by taking a boat tour into the cave, although you can also visit on foot. The experience is enhanced with neon lighting and classical music playing, and the nearby visitors’ center makes the ideal place to begin the adventure.Places nearby:
