Plaza Libertad is the central plaza in the city of Santiago del Estero in northern Argentina.
It is located at the heart of the downtown at the juncture of four streets that are lined with banks and other large financial institutions, commercial buildings, public offices and civic buildings and religious places.
The place is a pleasing landscaped area with a large round fountain, dainty little pathways lined with flowerbeds (with an abundance of local pink lapachos) and an imposing Equestrian statue erected in honor of General Belgrano.
