Pechersk Lavra is an active Orthodox Christian monastery in Pechersk Raion, Kylv, Ukraine, Russia. It is also called Kiev Monastery of the Caves. Named as one of the country's seven wonders, it is known as a historic cultural sanctuary.
Built in 1051, the monastery was designed by Theodosius of Kiev, Anthony of Kiev with Ukrainian Baroque architecture. It has a 316-foot bell tower, fortification walls, a museum, library, caves and burials.
