Comprising five different palaces, Patwon Ki Haveli is one of the largest palace complexes in Rajasthan.
It was built near Jaisalmer by Guman Chand Patwa a wealthy brocade merchant, and the construction took 55 years to complete. The palaces, made of yellow sandstone, hosts exquisite mirror works, fine wall paintings and beautiful archways, balconies and gateways.
The palaces are constructed in the traditional design style of Jaisalmer and are one of the most well preserved architectural marvels in the region.
There is also a museum there where visitors can see exhibits that showcase the ornate lifestyle of the erstwhile residents and the rich artwork of that era.Places nearby:
