Created in the 40's, the Parque Marechal Carmona Park, a large green space, is the outcome from the junction of the gardens of the Condes Castro Guimarães Palace and the Viscount da Gandarinha property in the village of Cascais.
Since the first half of the 16th century, the space was already used as a farm for recreation, leisure and production.
After being transferred to state property in 1834, it had several owners until it was finally acquired by Viscount da Gandarinha, who built a romantic park there. In 1944, after the Gandarinha land had been acquired, the two spaces were joined and opened to the public.
