Parque de Las Palapas is the downtown square in Cancun, Mexico. It is the main place where locals and tourists gather for relaxation, comradery and cultural events.
The focal point is a large stage covered with a thatched roof. It is then surrounded with vendor carts, food trucks and eating areas. Park goers can buy churros, fried bananas, tacos and other authentic Mexican foods. They can also purchase Mexican handicrafts from local artists.
The park also has a carousel, a children’s playground, art festivals, concerts, live music and street performers. It is also the location of the town’s Catholic church.
