One of the largest theatres in Russia, the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre first opened its doors in 1945. It's located in Lenin Square, in the heart of Novosibirsk in Siberia.
Almost 1,800 people can be accommodated in the theatre, which is known for its use of advanced technology. The theatre's huge 60 metre wide dome is supported without any columns, and the interior is also known for the Greek statues that decorate its upper gallery, and its two ton chandelier.
The theatre company is regarded as one of the country's best, and the venue regularly attracts opera and theatre companies from overseas.
