Nausicaa National Marine Centre is a 160,000 square foot, 4,500,00-gallon public aquarium located in Boulogne-sur-Mer, France. Opened in 1991, it has 60,000 animals consisting of 1,600 species. The aquarium is the project of architect Jacques Rougerie.
The aquarium showcases animals such as, jellyfish, sharks, California sea lions, African penguins, pelagic fish, manta rays, scalloped hammerheads and oceanic sunfish. Visitors can view exhibits such as the Tactile Pool, World Ocean, Tropical Lagoon, Shark Aquarium and the Submerged Forests.
