The National Museum in Warsaw, Poland features one of the largest collections of art in the country, with more than 800,000 pieces, dating from antiquities of Egypt, Rome, and Greece, to contemporary works.
The museum has on display many works of Polish artists as well as important pieces by European artists, and a large collection of Oriental art. Religious art works dating back to early and medieval Christianity form a major of the collection. Many of the works are arranged thematically rather than in chronological order.
