The National Museum of Western Art is located in Ueno Park in Tokyo, Japan. The museum is popularly referred to as NMWA, and lies close to the city zoo. In 1959 the museum was established and is the only national museum to showcase western art. It exhibits several collections of art from the 18th as well as 19th century.
Every year the NMWA curates a special collection for its yearly exhibition. The staff works hard to coordinate with private collectors and museums from across the world. And the result is that visitors to the museum are rewarded with an exceptional opportunity to view the works of western artists. Van Gogh's Sunflowers is to be exhibited here during the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
