Mysore Rail Museum, located in Mysuru, was built in 1979 and houses an extensive collection of exhibits related to Indian Railways.
The museum is famous for its fascinating collection of locomotives. Visitors can also see here the first steam engine in India, a wide array of ticketing machines and tickets, clocks, lights, signal signs, inspection cars, railway carriages and myriad other objects.
There is a gallery in the museum that traces the journey of the Indian railways through the years.
