Located some 70 km from Kuala Lumpur, the Morib Beach in Banting is one of the most spacious and longest beaches in Malaysia. The beach is 3 km long and the shallow coastal waters mean that during low tide, you can travel as far as 1-2 km towards the sea!
The good thing about Morib is that the beach never looks crowded, even during public holidays and weekends when there is a significant upsurge in turnout.
There is nothing flashy or touristy about the place. You can bring your own food and have a nice picnic with family or friends in the shades of the Casuarina grove. Or, you can enjoy nasi lemak, malay noodles, coconut and other local food at one of the many little, unpretentious food stalls located on the beach.
There is also a special Kite Flying zone and a couple of mobile shops that will sell kites of all shapes and sizes. And as the day comes towards an end, you can take a nice, quiet stroll along the beach or go up at one of the observation decks to enjoy some excellent views of the Straits of Malacca.
