Mercado de Olhao or the Olhao Municipal Market is one of the must visit destinations once you are at the city of Olhao, Portugal. It is an indoor market housed in a huge red brick building in the waterfront district of Olhao. The market is in fact located close to the spot from where you catch the ferry or the boats to the Algarve islands.
So, as you can imagine, the market is full of all kinds of fresh seafood products—crabs, shellfish, squid, shrimps—you name them and they have got it! Of course, there are other sections selling fruits, vegetables, meat and other edibles, but the market is really a seafood destination proper.
