The beautifully preserved German town of Goslar is on the UNESCO's World Heritage List, and with good reason. Located in the Harz Mountains, the town offers its visitors scenic views and the opportunity to walk down its many cobbled streets to the past. The Marktplatz or the 'Market Square' is the main town square.
The paved square lies in the midst of several historic buildings, including the Old Town Hall and Kaiserworth. The Imperial Ring House is on the eastern side of the Market Square. Four times a day, the clock on its gable puts up a spectacular figurine show. It depicts the history of this charming medieval town. There are several cafes, restaurants and hotels at Marktplatz.
