Bristol was once one of Britain's most important ports, and the city's history is told at the M-Shed, which opened in 2011 near the city's Floating Harbour.
Over 3,000 items recount the city's role in trade and the slave trade, as well as exploring its transport history. Some of the exhibits include a historic Bristol Brabazon airliner, a large mural called Window on Bristol, created by local artists, and models of the well known animated TV characters Wallace and Gromit.
Rides on the quayside are available on the city's restored Harbour Railway, and there's a restaurant and learning space as well as temporary exhibitions.
