One of the most popular tourist attractions in Lviv, Ukraine is the Lviv arsenal. In fact, this city contains three arsenals: Sieniawski, Royal, and City of which the City arsenal is the oldest.
This two storey structure is rectangular in shape and has on its North side a miniature octagonal tower. The building, as is stands now, was built in the year 1554 to the year 1556 atop a 14th century structure. It was previously attached to the city walls and used to include a torture chamber.
The Swedes blew up the arsenal building during the course of the Great Northern Wall, but it was restored subsequently.
