One of the most delightful attractions in the Polish town of Torun is the live gingerbread museum.
The museum experience and presentation last about 90 minutes, during which visitors learn all about the history of gingerbread, before baking and decorating their own in a traditional oven. It's all presented by friendly staff in traditional costumes, including that of a gingerbread witch, and the interactive show and cooking class is suitable for all ages.
It's no surprise that the museum has become one of Torun's biggest attractions, although the town has plenty more to see including its Medieval center and the monument to astronomer Copernicus.
