France's sixth largest city, Nantes, in the Loire Valley offers plenty to see.
One of the best ways to get an overview of the city is by enjoying the view from Le Nid, one of the city's most popular bars. It's at the top of Nantes' tallest building, the often controversial 144 meter tall skyscraper, Tour Bretagne, constructed in the 1970s.
The bar's name means the nest, and the bird theme is apparent when you enter, with a huge part stork / part heron model which serves as the actual bar, and tables shaped like eggs. Well worth visiting for the views over Nantes.Places nearby:
