Originally built in 1929, La Ribera Market of Bilba0 from the Vizcaya region of Spain has undergone a surprising number of restoration, renovation and requalification projects. Originally an art deco style building, the grand structure of today with its stained glass façade was finally completed in 2010 and is now spread across a whopping 110,000 sq. ft of space.
The market is famous for its slew of local produce gathered from all over the Vizcaya region. The market is especially renowned for its fresh and frozen seafood and fish stalls that take up the entire ground floor.
However, there is much more – from cured meats, special Basque cheeses, fruits and vegetables to olives, jams, pickles and pastries.
