When visiting the Netherlands, make sure that you visit the Kooijman Souvenirs En Gifts B.V. (wooden shoe workshop) that is factory manufacturing the Dutch shoe and situated at Klompenmakerij.
In order to reach this place follow the crowd here or just walk through the main road and keep your eyes open for a massive wooden shoe. Since medieval time the Dutch people have been wearing clogs, or shoes made of wood. Initially their manufacturing process included using a wooden sole with a leather top tacked to the wood.
Later on, only wood was used to make the shoes to protect the entire foot.
