Located in the Kichijoji district in the western part of Tokyo, Inokashira Onshi Park offers a hive of activities to its visitors.
The central lake with its crystal clear water and flanked with cherry trees is a visual treat in itself, although you may also go for a pedal boat ride if you wish. The lake and its adjacent parts have an abundance of trees, but you'll also find a separate wooded area ('Gotenyama') full of Japanese Maples and Cypress trees at a different end of the park.
Out of the bustle of Tokyo, you'll love these quite forests and promenades shaded with beautiful trees. In addition, the park has a zoo, an aquarium as well as a sculpture garden called 'Shizen Bunka-in'.
And if that's not enough, there is the Ghibli Museum located right next to the southwest end of Inokashira Koen. The museum is exclusively the territory of the anime genius Hayao Miyazaki and is firmly devoted to the fantasy world that is his creation.Places nearby:
