The Gold Souk in Manama, Bahrain is in the older part of the city. The stores here have been owned by the same families for close to 200 years. The earliest goldsmiths in this part of Bahrain were of Indian origin.
A trip to the souk can be quite exciting as one can choose from traditional as well as contemporary designs that are custom made. At some stores one may also be able to see goldsmiths at work.
