Estadio German Becker is a soccer stadium in the city of Temuco in Chile. At present, the stadium, also known as the City Stadium and the Municipal Stadium, is the home ground of the Temuco football club Club de Deportes.
Originally built for the inmates of the Temuco prison, the club also used to be the home of now defunct Union Temuco football clubs. Situated at an elevation of 114m above sea level, the ground in fact has a rather long history. It was built (and is still owned) by the Municipality of Temuco back in the 1960s with Enrique Esteve acting as the designer.
The construction was completed in 1965 and the formal inauguration took place on August 13, 1965. The stadium is named after the renowned Chilean politician German Becker who held the Office of Mayor of the Temuco City from 1963- 1972.Places nearby:
