Those visiting the Mount Lavina in the emerald island of Sri Lanka should make it a point to check out the Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct. It lies opposite the World Trade Centre and is a fine shopping arcade with smart shops and restaurants including the Ministry of Crab restaurant and Barefoot and Odel's shops. It is unarguable the oldest structure in Colombo. It was constructed in the year 1669 and is a fine example of Dutch colonial architecture of the seventeenth century, with thick walls, open verandahs, as well as four sides around a central courtyard. Go forth and check this awesome shopping and dining location.
