Daxi Old Street is ideal for anybody looking to explore the old and by now all but bygone charm of the little Taiwan towns. The old street is made of stores standing on Zhongyang Road, Zhongshan Road and Heping Road. In the olden times, all of these stores used to trade in tea and camphor as these were the products that made the town of Daxi flourish in the bygone days.
The tea and camphor stores are still there, but now the district is also full of a vast array of Daxi specialties such as handmade peanut caramel candy, many different-flavored tofus and tofu puddings as well as other delicacies.
