Also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, the Dambulla Cave Temple is a series of five massive and impeccably well-preserved cave temples.
Collectively, these caves contain more than 150 beautifully rendered paintings and statues of Buddha, Sri Lankan kings, gods, and bodhisattvas. Classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this compound contains some of the most evocative and important religious art in all of Sri Lankan history.
