Ciudadela de Pamplona, also known as The Citadel of Pamplona or The New Castle, is an old military fort in Pamplona, Navarre, Spain. Originally built with a 5-point star design in a Spanish Renaissance architectural style, two of the points have since been demolished to make way for new construction. It is considered one of the best European defensive forts ever built.
Currently, the Citadel is a central focal point used as a public park or a setting for cultural events. It is filled with bastions, moats and pavilions. Although it's located in the center of the city, Vuelta del Castillo surrounds it, and Vuelta is the largest park in the city.Places nearby:
