Perhaps the most famous cinema in the world, the Chinese Theatre has been on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles since 1927. It was the first commercial movie theatre to offer air conditioning, and it's also known for the 200 or so handprints and footprints of famous actors and other celebrities, in the sidewalk just in front of it.
In 2013, the theatre reopened as an IMAX cinema, although every effort was made to keep the decorative ceiling and walls intact.
About 10 million people visit the nearby Hollywood Hall of fame, with over 2,500 stars embedded in the 1.3 mile stretch of famous sidewalk.
