Located in Palembang, Indonesia, Cheng Ho Mosque was completed in 2006 and is unusual in incorporating architectural features from Malay, Indonesia and China. The roof looks more like a typical Chinese pagoda, and the dominant colors of red, yellow and green make for a memorable photograph.
The name commemorates the famous Chinese admiral Zheng He. About 600 worshippers can be accommodated here, although the mosque has become much more than simply a place to worship. As well as a tourist attraction, it's become a popular venue for hosting civic ceremonies and presentations.
The 8 sided pagoda is also considered lucky; 8 is a lucky number in China.
