Catedral Metropolitana in Nossa Senhora Aparecida is located in the Esplanade of Ministries where the urban planner Lúcio Costa had recommended.
The main body of the temple (the nave) is three meters below the Ministries Esplanade. It is followed by a gallery designed by Oscar Niemeyer. The gallery has a narrow corridor in relation to the size of the temple, dark floor and granite walls of the same color.
At the exit of the dark tunnel is the nave, which has a circular layout (seventy meters in diameter). The area is capable of housing four thousand worshipers. The dome is made of stained glass that ensures illumination of the nave.
