Renowned worldwide as being the world's 58th tallest Church, the Catedral de la Plata is dedicated to the Immaculate Conception.
This structure lies in the heart of the city and faces the central square. Under the direction of the city planner, architect Ernesto Meyer drew the plans for this Church, whose designs are inspired by the European Cathedrals of Cologne and Amiens.
The cornerstone of the same was laid on the year 1884. In the year 1932, this Church was designated a Cathedral. This is also among the 6 tallest Churches in the Americas with its towers rising 112 meters.
