The 14th century Castle of Diosgyor is located in Miskolc in northern Hungary, and the present building replaced an earlier castle destroyed in the 13th century Mongol invasion.
Although much of it is ruined today, there's still plenty to see. One of the largest waxworks exhibitions in Europe shows Medieval life in the area, and visitors can also mint a commemorative coin.
Views over the town and the countryside can be enjoyed from the top of the north west tower. The castle hosts various plays, tournaments and other events during the year, including the Castle Plays, which take place in May and August.
